Over the past few weeks my main focus has been continuing my research in relation to writing my dissertation so that when time comes to start writing which will more than likely be next week I will have a head start and be able to communicate my points and ideas more concisely.

I have also been in commutation with collaborators as the only person I have right now is John Walsh and I have organised an interview with Dr. Orfhlaith Campbell on the 26th of April to discuss the social impact of the war on drugs prohibition as they are her areas of expertise. and Dr. Anne Campbell who will cover the topic overdose prevention centres. We got in commutation with Anne Campbell after having a zoom meeting with Andrew Percy who was originally going to be a contributor as his area of expertise is with adolescent drugs use which isn't a topic we really planned to discuss.

ECRM forms, location allowance and release forms have been prepared for each location and interview and I have been in commutation with Maria and equipment lists are ready for the shoots. Budget ad production sheets are also in the work as we are treating this fully as a real production.

A major dedication in this time was the acquisition of archive footage as for the begging segment in the documentary it will be the primary footage used. My main sources where Archive.org and using a custom tag I was able to find footage that was in public domain or creative commons. Another source was the Library of Congress where I was able to gather a library of archive images relation to prohibition.

As my interviews are going be taking place a lot later that I would like I have already starting working on my edit and working on the scenes that do not involve interviews and creating and pacing my voice over. I have creating the introduction and first act so far and in the future I will continue to work on other scenes and leave room for interviews. I can do this as I have been in communication and having zoom meetings with all interviewees and we have established questions and already have a good idea of how they are going to go so I can confidently give time slots and be able transition without having that footage yet.

With Easter holidays, St. Patricks and bank holidays I have a only a few meetings with my supervisor which have gone well and for the most part I have just been working independently and making progress.
