Final Project Development blog 2

I have spent the past two weeks mainly preparing for my dissertation and researching writing methods. My main developments where creating the format I am going to use which was also given to us by our lecturer Victoria and in the end they where essentially the same but what really helped with the one we got from class was the suggested word counts for each section. I used the website GradCoach.com which went went into depth what each section is and explained the terms in great detail as before this I honestly didn't know exactly what a dissertation included only that it was an academic piece of work using research to create new ideas.

With my template in place and necessary knowledge I now feel I have Know-how on how to tackle this piece of coursework. In classes I have been taking notes on key points to keep in mind during my writing which I have here:

I have taken down these key bullet points summarised from each section of the classes to keep in mind during my writing which I keep open on my second monitor on my desk as a reminder.

In relation to my practice piece I have been slowly adding to the script and communicating with my producer Maria Sloan who will now officially be taking on that role. As for the script I am not currently happy with it and right now I am just experimenting with ideas and putting them on paper to see how it looks and weather I think it will fit and in complete honestly this time last semester I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve with the documentary but right now I am not sure how I wish to take it forward

This here is an example of the first page and I am trying to connect this first seen with the main body but I can't see this sticking and will need a complete rework. On another note I have moved to celtx, an online website created for writing screenplays, mood boards, shot lists and much more to contain my work in one location. Another great benefit of this is being able to add collaborators so that other crew members can add or review the current work.

In week 2 I had my first weekly meeting with my supervisor and we discussed the idea and I emailed him the project brief and the pilot episode of the series which I have been using as a format for this current one. The meeting went well and it was a good introduction into both the dissertation and the practice piece and knowing I have someone I can seek for suggestions and aid will greatly benefit me in the long run of this project.

Over the next coming days I plan to keep adding to the script and find out what I want this piece to be exactly before I even start my dissertation as I want to complete them side by side together.
